THE ASK
Demonstrate to young Americans (18-24) what makes Marines different through an innovative stream celebrating 250 years of Marine Corps excellence.
THE IDEA
First Sergeant Chase McGrorty-Hunter, an active-duty Marine, joined LuckyChamu and JoeWo for the first stream and partnered with Adriann and Psypho for the second in which he guided the players through DownRange - a fast-paced tactical wargame created by the USMC to help hone the strategic skills necessary for success on the battlefield.
Twitch partnered with Marines to create the best scenarios for a live stream setting, created the game maps, and designed the set located Load Bearing Studio in Santa Ana, California.
During each 2-hour stream, 1stSgt McGrorty-Hunter and our streamers discussed actual battle scenarios using the game board and pieces to illustrate the complex strategic thinking required of Marines, answer questions, and prove that, while Down Range helps Marines prepare, being a Marine is far from traditional gaming.
