I'VE LEARNED

to never believe a goal is out of reach.

running your own company involves more paperwork than you'd expect.

how to turn dysfunctional teams into cross-functional partners. We work in a fast-paced, stressful industry with no room for internal conflict. To thrive we have to unite, not fight.

I LOVE

finding inspiration in the unexpected.

people who know the correct pronunciation of “nuclear” and the correct application of the word “literally.”

the kaKLICK sound from a heavy, retractable ball point pen after I finish scratching down an awesome idea.

Now, as your reward for making it all the way down here, we can laugh at my first job application together.

Until my late teens, my Dad owned a print shop right next door to my grandparents' graphic design business. Having heard stories of their lives in advertising, I wanted nothing more than to get in on the action. So, at age 10, I applied for the job I knew would get my foot in the door: SECRATARY.

Even as a pre-teen, I was a firm negotiator. The plus mark was my way of showing that "no" was not an option. Despite my terrible spelling and inability to find the lift-off tape I got the job.
